Graduated!

.
.
.
.
The day I made my parents proud.
The day I achieved a mile stone in my life.
The day I officially declared myself no longer a full time student.
The day I am going to start missing my classmates.
The day I am going to start missing my afternoon nap. =P
The day I was looking long enough since foundation year.

It’s my graduation day! Finally, I graduated and I can earn my salary already!

During the orientation week when I was in the foundation year, people was talking senior A is a top student with CGPA … and his gorgeous girl friend is a top student too with CGPA  …. (wwhhaaoooo) and then that senior also got high CGPA and that senior too. Those seniors look smart. Some said it was very difficult to get CGPA above 3.80. Those seniors are really ‘the geng’ or godlike. They got great job offers before the final semester.

As a newbie, it looks like the curriculum in University is very hard, those professors are insane and to graduate with good grade it seems like a distance of sky to reach. From that day onward, I set a target for myself – to study hard and obtain flying color result. Well, a student should do that as it is the responsibilities of a student.

I still remember the night with Keith when we talked about our future at our hostel. I said: “5 years to go and 5 years I will be “stuck” at this place, it is a very long way to go.” I really dislike the feeling at that moment. I really dislike the feeling of having to wait for so long and the time is moving very slowly. At that time, I emo alittle bit. =P

University life – DOTA! However, being so noob until scolded by Jason Lee. (T.T)  I don’t want to play already!

I hate the government at that time (now also =P) as they cancelled the exemption for first class honor. I went for scholarship and obtained YTL and Genting offers. Why did I choose Genting? It’s simple, Genting gave me RM4000.00 more. It sounds ridiculous but it is true. My dad said both are equivalent the same and I have to decide myself.

One more thing I dislike UNITEN is it is a boy school! Haiz, it is difficult to get to know a girl! (May be it is my problem as not being working hard enough for it) My other classmates all have to ‘hunt’ outside. You see, when my friends from another colleges told me that almost every guy got a girl friend in his class and they have a lot of options. I was so envy!!! Arrgghh! Should study business!! =P

As I typed until here, a lot of memories came across my mind. I think better to keep it in my heart.

Okay, my achievement in UNITEN is being the top student in ME (but I don’t have girl friend yet like my seniors four years back). First class, yeah, I got it, piece of cake (Just kidding). =P
My first award from Uniten.

My second award. I simply like the name of this award. hehe.

MBA

.
.
.
.
I just received an offer letter from UNITEN to study MBA. Why MBA? This is because the limit is up to the sky for business. I am thinking whether to take it at this moment or not.

Currently I am appointed as a Condition Monitoring Engineer in Genting Energy. I am the only one in the newly formed department which I have to set up all the procedures and techniques for condition monitoring. What is condition monitoring? It is a predictive maintenance; we continuously monitor the health of the plant to minimize the break down time and to ensure failure could be predicted at the early stage.

A decision made will result great changes in everything and of course commitment for 2 years. I have to consider my financial status. No more using my parents’ hard earn money, but my own hard earn money. RM 22,468++ from my own pocket. Should I take it?
.
.
I would like to express my gratitude here to my Final Year Project supervisor Prof. Dr. Ir. Ramesh for giving an A and the guidance of life to me so that I can increase my CGPA. Thank you. =)

Scaffolding 3 in 1 Competent Person

Just after I had finished my final, my dad asked me to attend a basic scaffold course. (Instruction from dad =P) It was a 6 days training + 2 days examination course. What is a scaffold? A scaffold is a temporary structure for support, load, access, protection and storage. (Yeah, I still remember. My memory is still good) Still has no idea? For example, in a construction site, usually there are frames set up around the building. They are called scaffold as shown below.

At first, I thought it would be easy by just sitting in the classroom listening to lectures. I found out that I was wrong on the second day when we went to field to erect scaffold (practical part) for 4 days. We were using GI steel tubes as components of the scaffold. GI steel + hot sun = very heavy and hot steel tubes! However, I enjoyed working with my new friends from vast background in erecting the scaffold.

Finally, I had made it! I am now a registered certified competent person for basic scaffold. My signature now can earn money for me! $.$

For those who are interested, you can go to take this course because you can earn extra income by just signing. BUT, make sure that you don't have height phobia! (Honestly, I have a tad of height phobia, working at height is not easy!!) Fees is RM2,500. I am going for a intermediate level in this coming May 17th, Melacca to increase my signature value! Hehe.

New friends with totally different background.

Took 2 hours to erect it. I thought that's it. I can go home.

The trainers were not satisfied with a low level scaffold. They instructed us to erect a 4.5m or 3 storey scaffold. (Working at height is not easy at all, hard earn money)

My practical test is 2 bays 3 lifts. 4.8 metre scaffold. I did it!!! =)
